Hi all.
I followed the manual's instructions to reset the Maintenance indicator on my 98 Civic. Pretty simple. All it said was insert key in slot. Kinda like resetting the trip odometer. But it didn't work. Am I missing something? Anyone know how to reset this indicator? Thanks! TB |

I believe you insert a key, turn the ignition on while keeping it pressed in
until you see the indicator go out. Tried it earlier...didn't work. Just FYI, the indicator is not a light. It's kind a like an odometer thingy just moves from neutral to yellow to red in color as the car is driven. Thanks. TB |

It's possible that the reset mechanism is broke. Remember Murphy's law can kick in at any time--even with Hondas. If it's broke--just ignore it or put a piece of black tape over it. |

If it doesn't, the mechanism is broken. It has no effect on vehicle operation - just ignore it. |

Okay, older than I thought. You need to push it in harder. It reaches a
stop...but it needs to go further until you feel it reset. Hard to explain. It may just have some dirt in it, but it takes a good push. > > Tried it earlier...didn't work. If it doesn't, the mechanism is broken. Thanks, all! ![]() |
