Default 2003 Pilot radio smoked

2003 Pilot EX 7800 miles w/AM FM CD DVD system. I was driving home from work
listening to a CD when I noticed a low humming/popping sound coming from the
back of the vehicle. It steadily got louder and seemed to be coming from the
area of the subwoofer. It finally started howling with the music that was
playing. I switched the stereo to AUX and the howl was still there, it
stayed howling with AM and FM. About that time I noticed a strong electrical
burning smell. The noise only went away when I turned the stereo system off,
but the burning smell persisted. Any Pilot owners out there experience this?

Thanks,
TJ

All I can say is that the subwoofer in mine is not performing like a real
sub. Songs with intense bass keep giving a vibrating sound almost like the
magnet is out of center...buzz!

You are lucky compared to the people that have Honda vehicles that are no
longer under warranty. Take it back to the dealer and tell them the
problem. They should fix it for free under the warranty program.
