How come the arm rest storage box is so narrow?

That is an obvious design flaw!

I'm thinking of adding an aero kit. Does it really turn your car into
a "hot rod"? Is it worth it? Or a waste of money?

the arm rest storage is so narrow to allow wider seats, id rather comfort
over a small storage container, and if im not mistaken the aerokit is only
cosmetic
