I heard that Honda was experiencing (atleast my dealership) problems with
the CD-Player (with changer). Supposedly CD-R and CD-RW were getting jammed in the CD player, which would have to be sent to the dealer. I don't know if this is true on the MP3 player itself, does anyone? Also, which recordable CDs are the best ones to use.. ?? Location: Toronto, Canada Thanks, 2003 Accord EX-V6 |

I've been using silver Memorex CD-R's for my MP3 player, no issues at all.
I've also used a variety of CD-R's in the 6 disc CD changer. I've had no jamming issues, but I have had issues where the CD player would refuse to play tracks near the end (i.e. near the outside) of the CD-R disc - and I had this issue with a variety of brands and types. The MP3 player played all of these (CD Audio, non-MP3) discs with no problems. I've had exactly the same problem ( I have the 6-CD changer version).
A 'well known brand name' CD-R manufacturer's CD has a greenish hue surface. It plays the most of the tracks OK, but the last few tracks get garbled. My clock radio (&CD player) at home has the same result, but my home stereo is no problem. I've heard good things about the Memorex CD's for fixing this (I'd suspect most with a 'whitish surface' would be ok too). I'm using _Imation_ brand CDs, which I used to reburn the CDs that were not working in the Accord, and they work fine now. Well CDs can get jammed if the player doesn't properly recognize them.
Unless the manual for the MP3 player specifically says it can read CD-RW, it won't recognize them. Honda's CD players can't read CD-RW so I doubt the MP3 player is any different. As for CD-R, I only trust Verbatim and I've NEVER had a coaster. They cost more but you get what you pay for. I put an aftermarket JVC MP3 deck in where the CD holder was and have played the cheapest blank cdr's, and cdrw's with no problem whatsoever. Jody |

In fact, I haven't found any disc that the Honda MP3 player WON'T play. |

That's a lot of money for a dealer add on. I could buy a much better after-market stereo for that kind of cash. |

I got my (Canadian) dealer to throw it in for free. It obviously doesn't cost them $700 to put it in, so they got a deal, sort of. http://www.handaaccessories.com/accelect03.html has it cheaper than that as well. |

Not bad. I used all my bargaining power to get out of my lease. I
terminated the lease on my 2000 civic a year early but I still had the full 96,000 KM on the car. The dealer offered me $12,150 for the car I only had to pay $250 to terminate the lease. Not a bad deal considering I was 24,000 KM over my mileage limit. Because of their generous offer though I ended up paying sticker price for the new Accord. I still feel I got a good deal though because in the end they beat the next best offer by $1300.
