I have replaced the cv joint on my honda odyssey. Everything seemed to go
back in place fine. During the test drive I could feel a little bumping in
the brake pedal when coming to a stop. I can also here what I believe the
ABS pump arming itself (light grinding type noise). Could anyone tell what
could be the problem? I also disconnect the battery while doing the work.

Could you have disconnected (and forgotten to put back) the wires to the
ABS wheel sensor on the wheel where you replaced the CV joint?

I don't think so. I did not even disconnect it, just pushed that assembly
back out of the way. I thought it might have something to do with the
battery being disconnected. Also, I don't get any error light on the dash...

How big of a job was the CV boot replacement? Did it require special tools?

The cv did require a seperator tool (ebay ball joint seperator). It cost me
about 50 bucks. Other than that I removed the axles myself. In my case I had
a neighbor that actually replaced the rubber boot and repacked them, in 15
minutes. At times it seemed like a big job, but actually just requires
patience. I did learn a few tricks I guess. If they are broken the grease
factor is huge, buy some gloves or surgical gloves. I decided to start doing
some of this work myself because of forgotten bolts and work that did not
really need to be done anyway. If you decide to do one let me know and I can
offer some of advise.
