I purchased a CRV in 1997 when they first came out. I got the dealer
installed leather.

Now - 114,000 miles later - it runs like new - perfect in every way.

I have replaced tires - brakes. It still has the original battery and
exhaust.

I went through a set of tires every 50,000 miles. I first replaced them
with Michelins - I must say they had a rougher ride and a bit noisy to
boot. This summer I bought a set of alloy wheels and turanzo tires from
a new Accord - a kid replaced them right out of the showroom. These
tires are very quiet.

All in all - it has been a great ride for 6 years.

congratulations, i bought a green 2003 lx in march and have 8,000 miles on
it. the car has enough power to pass and climb hills. i do my own oil
changes and i stick w/5w-20 oil. i do notice a ticking sound when the car
starts, possibly valve taping, but it goes away soon after. my windshield
has a chip and that kinda bummed me out. i think honda makes thin
windshields, but besides that, it is a wonderful car. no regrets.

Larry,

I'm wondering about your CR-V. You said you do your own oil change(s),
and you're using 5w/20 oil. I thought Hawaiians would use something a
little thicker, and maybe that explains why you're getting some ticking
on startup??

Did you leave the 'break-in' oil in until the recommended interval?

Regarding stage performances: When everyone else has finished playing,
you should not play any notes you have left over. -

i was thinking of using 5w-30 synthetic but the local hond told me to stick
with 5w-20. i did leave the break in oil for the first 5k miles. the
tapping could be due to the climate here, but i plan on sticking to 20w for
now.
