Default 2007 Accord Driver side rearview mirror replacment

I need to replace the driver side rearview (outside) mirror on a 2007 Accord
EX. I have the new mirror but am not sure the safest way to remove the old
mirror. It appears that it held in place by some pressure tape but you
might have to rotate it also to remove it??? Anyone have any experience
with this?
Thanks CP

I don't really know, but it should be pretty easy; since hondas are
easy to assemble and disassemble. Have you tried looking at the
manual, or take it to any honda place and just ask, sometimes there
are people nice enough to tell you how to do it. They won't even ask
you for any money, they'll just tell you how to do it, cause they want
to help.

Dude, you must live and car-shop in La-La land. 'Round here, they damn near
charge you for a cup of tepid coffee in the waiting room....

Google 'Replace Honda Outside Mirror Glass". There are numerous answers,
some more detailed than others, but you ought to find something that suits
you.

Yeah i guess you're right. How about a friend or a relative? they
might help or if not, they might know of someone that might. I mean,
if it saves you money, why not at least give it a try.

No problem, I figured it out. You just "carefully" pry it off. The mirror
actually provides a slot for removal.

As an option, if it is only the glass that is broken, our local glass shop
ordered just the replacement glass for that model and using silicone sealant
'glued' it over the broken glass.....can hardly notice the difference.

I banged the driver side mirror on my 2001 Jeep on the garage backing out
and fractured only the glass. and that was the repair. Saved the expense
from replacing the entire mirror assembly.

While that works in the case of non-heated mirrors, it doesn't always
work with heated mirrors.

That is true to a certain extent. This mirror on my Jeep is a heated
mirror. The installer put a fairly thin coating of silicone and it does
take noticable longer to work, but it was a low cost option ($39 last year)
vs hundreds for total replacement. It works satisfactory with morning dew,
but with some ice, it takes much longer.
