Default clutch action on 87 crx

Test drove the car anf found it surged only in first gear.Improved as
car warmed up. Also there was an add-on dash switch to manually turn on
engine fan beacuse crx sensors are supposedly un reliable. Plus ther's a
constant red light on dash that says ppmff or some such. Anyone help me
out?

It sounds like it would be best to take your money elsewhere.

I'm guessing that dash light says PGM-FI
Which refers to the Programmed Fuel Injection. It can mean anything from a
bad sensor, to a significant and costly problem with the FI system. I'd
avoid the car, it'll be a money pit.
