Default '03 Honda Accord Brake Problems

I own a 2003 Honda Accord Sedan.
I was very pleased with this car until today. (well I still like the
car, don't like the warranty) I took it into Pickering Honda (where I
bought it) for shuddering/pulling when braking. I was informed that
the pads are to the point they need replacing. The rotors need
turning. This will probably be not covered under warranty. (still
waiting to hear back from Honda)

I run my own business and put alot of miles daily on my car. I have
had pulsing/pulling on my brake pedal for about 10,000kms now, but it
hasn't been too bad.

My previous car was a 1996 Dodge Neon. I also put alot of miles on the
Neon. (221,364kms to be exact, my daughter is currently driving it) I
figured the Neon had served me well enough and it was time for a new
car.
Everyone told me to buy a Honda, they are indestructible! I test drove
a Civic Si, Civic Sir, then I drove the Accord. I loved the car. Did
some research and saw it got rave reviews. I purchased it.

I think brake pads only lasting for 30,000kms is ridiculous. Rotors
needing turing is even more ridiculous. The Neon still has had the
rotors replaced twice. The front pads replaced 4 times. The back
brakes still have the original pads!

I came home feeling very frustrated/let down. I did some searching on
the Internet and have found thousands of people encountering the same
brake problems I am having. Some are a soon as 3,000 miles!

I have enjoyed this car immensely and wish to continue to do so. I
have contacted some aftermarket places about purchasing cross
drilled/slotted rotors, but unfortunately none are available yet. I
don't want this to be an ongoing problem, I just want it fixed. They
are telling me because I didn't bring the car in every 16,000kms for
service and have the brakes taken apart and cleaned, they are going to
shrug responsibility for warranty. I can understand if a major
component breaks as a result of neglect, but brakes and rotors going
at 30,000kms is unacceptable. Are you admitting that Dodge builds a
better car? I never took the Neon in once to have to the brakes
serviced unless they needed it.

My wife and myself have been into the Pickering Dealership test
driving other vehicles with the intention of buying another one for
her. We are now thinking of other manufacturers.

Watch out if anybody owns one.

I suggest strongly that you write a letter to Honda stating all of
your concerns. They should take care of you. There are bad dealers
out there Honda included.
