What I'm asking is: How do I change/adjust the outside temperature
display (found next to my mileage display)?
A few years ago, when i bought my (Canadian; it appears this feature
was unavailable on US models) CR-V, I checked Usenet to see what
others thought of it.
In these newsgroups, I also, discovered a way of adjusting this
outside temperature indicator by turning the key to a certain "on"
position and then pressing the mileage reset button.
However, I have forgotten how to do this.

Who cares why? He asked if anyone knew how to do it... Maybe it's just
for shits and giggles?

LOL.

I was thinking, ice cubes on the sensor to lower it, a hair dryer to
raise it......

He's talking about the outdoor temperature calibration for the dashboard
display.

The sensor is located around the front bumper.

To adjust, you hold the odometer trip reset button for at least 10 seconds.
The display will flash the increment to adjust for one second per increment.
To set, you release the reset button.

As some others may also say. RTFM. I found my instructions on pg 63 of my 05
crv owners manual.

Thank you very much for the info. but NOT the wise-ass comment about
RTFM! I fail to see the humour in these answers to a very simple
question.

I HAVE read the f*cking manual, and it is, obviously, NOT in my 2002
manual, or I wouldn't have posted the question, now would I?

I wonder: Why do some people consider themselves to be the smartest
person in any room they are in?

And if you knew to whom you (and the other wiseacres in this thread,
with comments such as "drive north", etc. ) are directing your pithy,
juvenile, and smart-ass remarks, it would absolutely blow your mind!

If you didn't see the page where it covers that question, you probably
would have posted the question.

Someone has to be the smartest person in the room. Why do you think they
aren't the smartest in the room?
