Default Highway driving

Yesterday, I took a trip to Atlantic City and I reached speeds of about
70-80mph on the highway. The civic (2003) felt a little tense in my hands
when I tried pushing it to 80mph. I could feel the stick shift vibrating as
I passed 75 and into 80mph. I'm not sure if I'm having an issue here or
maybe the car needs more breaking in. By the way, I filled it with Mobil
Super; is that ok even though owner's manual recommends regular?

Dave

If you're still in the break-in period, you shouldn't be pushing your car like that.

So far I've put 1000 miles on the car. Am I passed the break in period?

Typically, 1000 miles is the break-in period. Your Owner's Manual (OM)
will tell you exactly how many miles it is and also tell you how
you're supposed to drive during the break-in period...but if you
didn't read all that at the very beginning, it's too late to worry
about it now.

As for the gas, again, read the OM...it will tell you what
octane-rating to use. Using a higher octane than what you need is a
waste of money.
