Default New Civic Pricing.

Hello,

I am trying to determine what is a good price to pay for a new Honda
Civic (2 door, automatic, minimal accessories). The various websites
(Edmunds,KBB,cars.com etc.) quote somewhere around 14k depending on
the model (EX, LX etc).

I live in St. Louis, MO and the dealers here are quoting prices that
are much higher ($17k and up). I was wondering what some of the others
have paid. If you do not want to reveal financial info, please send an
annonymous email to me. Also please indicate where you live.

Thanks,

Ashok

Take the edmunds.com invoice price, also check the carsdirect.com pricing,
to the dealership. Tell them you want to pay +/- $500 over invoice for the
exact car you want, color, interior, options, etc. If you do your homework,
don't waste the dealers time with test drive, financing, etc., you can
usually get a great deal.

Furthermore, there are probably more than one Honda dealership within
driving distance for you, start with the phone, call the salesperson and
tell them you'll be buying a car within the next week and you want to give
them a shot at a sale.

I did this a few weeks ago with my Accord. Got an EX for $20,020. If you're
up front with the salesman, they should return the favor.

Call a dealer and ask for the internet manager. You can get a civic under
invoice, easy. Right now I think they have 500 discount on coupes.
I was offered a 03 civic lx 4 dr, auto, 14800.00 + ttl.
you should be able to get it for 13,600 + ttl if the 500 incentive for
dealers still valid. try www.car-prices-costs.com
try www.carbuyingtips.com
tell them you have a quote form other dealers and they have only one shot to
quote you, you don't have time to mess with them. It is best when you do it
by email, because if you go in person with the dealer, they won't let you
think right.
let us know how you do

Default Re: New Civic Pricing.

I just bought a Civic EX Coupe Manual, MSRP 17270 Invoice 15824 Paid 15692
which was Edmunds TMV. Also got 1.9% interest.

I just checked again, and TMV is 15507 now.

Went to the first dealership, and they said they couldn't sell it under
invoice. So I went to the next dealership, and they gave me the price I
asked for. Same car, color, everything.

Just get the TMV price for your area, and tell them thats want your paying
for it.

Your best option is to decide exactly which Civic you want and visit every
Honda Dealership within 100 miles of your home. Explain to the salesman
that you are comparing the prices at various Honda dealers and will buy it
from the one that gives you the best price. Tell him what you want and ask
for a business card. Write the price he gave you on the back of the card
and go to the next Honda Dealership and do the same thing. Test drive the
one with the lowest price and make sure it in showroom condition and has
less than 50 miles on it.
