Not very likely. One of the car is garaged and locked and I reckon his penus would probably be chopped off by the garage door if he tried that as it is the old style of garage door. <motsco_@_interbaun.com> wrote: >anon-13526571@craigslist.org wrote: >> >> OK I have starting problems with BOTH my accords. >> >> 1st car 1991 Honda Accord Wagon (101k) >> 2nd car 1992 Honda Accord Sedan (102k) >> >> I am having starting problems in both the cars. So what's the status of the cars now? Do they "sometimes" start? |

The status, They do not start on very rare ocassions when the days are hot. Based on my research and your respoonses I plan to do the following. 1) Check the ICM (Ignition Control Module). This is enwrapped by the distributor cap it seems. It is possible to change just this part but it is listed for about $90. Does this price make sense? 2) Check the distributor cap to see check for cracks. But why should this happen in both the cars. 3) Change my gas station. I have to admit I was pumping in some cheap Getty gas. I am going to switch to Shell or Mobil etc. I probably should do this step first as this is common in BOTH the cars. wrote: > >>>> OK I have starting problems with BOTH my accords. >>>> >>>> 1st car 1991 Honda Accord Wagon (101k) >>>> 2nd car 1992 Honda Accord Sedan (102k) >>>> >>>> I am having starting problems in both the cars. Folks,
I have a 1991 Honda Accord Wagon. The BRAKE LAMP light keeps coming on and I don't know what it means. It comes on intermittently. At first I thought it was the acutal brake light but the brake light is fine. Any thoughts? |

In the past there have been postings on this in the news group. Someone
mentioned that using the wrong type of brake bulb can cause the brake light warning to come on. I believe the correct type should be 2057. Same applies to the high mounted brake light, but I do not know what type it is supposed to be. parkbox@REMOVETHIShotmail.com wrote: > > Folks, > I have a 1991 Honda Accord Wagon. Your owner's manual says you should check the level of the brake fluid in the reservoir, which is under the hood. Check the reservoir for the clutch while you're in there. Don't shake the can of brake fluid. You should probably read what the manual says about the function and testing of the other warning lamps in the dash. There's some interesting stuff to learn in the manual. Folks there appears to be some confusion about the light I am talking about. The brake lamp light I am talking about is the red light that comes on on the picture of the car with the four doors on the dash. Could this problem be related to another problem I had this summer. AFter I drove for at least half an hour I was suddenly about to press the brake pedal all the way down. It was as if there was no resistance. It only happens in hot days. I was still able to stop but to have the pedal down all the way seems a bit strange. It is not doing it anymore perhaps because the weather is getting cooler. Any thoughts? wrote: >Folks, >I have a 1991 Honda Accord Wagon. The BRAKE LAMP light keeps coming on >and I don't know what it means. It comes on intermittently. My first thought is: please give us your license number and a description of
your car so that we can all avoid being anywhere near you on the road. Have you even checked the fluid level in the master brake cylinder yet? The symptom you describe is usually air in the brake lines. As several posters have already told you, the light means either your parking brake is on, or you have a little or no brake fluid left in the reservoir. We're all betting its the latter. My guess is that your master cylinder is failing. You need to either get it fixed immediately, or start practicing how to stop the car by downshifting and using the parking brake. The Brake Lamp light tells you that you have a bulb out in the back. The
light comes on when you hit the brake pedal the first time. The sinking brake pedal is probably a failing master cylinder, assuming that you do not have any other external leaks. <parkbox@REMOVETHIShotmail.com> wrote in message news:qil5ov0au41r55vf2olgt1egqsf6ce1ufo@4ax.com... > On Mon, 06 Oct 2003 15:04:02 -0400, parkbox@REMOVETHIShotmail.com > > Folks there appears to be some confusion about the light I am talking > about.
