Default '02 Odyssey Mysterious Squealing!

Hi,

I have a 2002 Odyssey EX. About 20,000 km (12,000 miles) I noticed a
squeeling/ringing type sound coming from the front end. It happens only
when in gear and only during acceleration or maintaining speed. Coasting
there is no sound. It is not the brakes.

I had the dealer check it out, and they said it was the stator in the
alternator. Replaced under warranty. Right out of the shop it still made
the squealing. I doubt they even took it for a ride.

To me, it would seems to be a bearing that is making the noise. I am
concerned about engine or tranny failure. Is this a known problem. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,

JN
