Default 2003 accord, timing belt or gear?

What does the 4 cyl. have, timing gear or belt? If belt, what is the
recommended changing time or miles?

Also what is the warranty period for the muffler converters?

Thanks,

Believe they have gone to a chain on the new 2.4 I4. Owners manual ought to
tell you.

Get a wservice/repair manual for your car...it's in there!

Anyone who does work on his/her own car needs one, but you at least
SHOULD know WTH your car has, belt or chain for gosh sakes. That's
basic stuff.

As for changing either, it's in your Owner's Manual. Don't have that?
Get one.

If you don't want to get any documentation, just take it in to the
shop...and bring lots of money because they'll see you coming.

Hey guys, give me a break. I do not own one, but am considering buying one.
Guess I will have to call the dealer... sigh.

Okay, then enough said.

I'm sure someone here can tell you whether it's a belt or chain, but
you can always call the dealer for a quick answer as well as post in
the newsgroups...use multiple routes of inquiry and one of them should
come through quickly.

Or:

1. Go down to AutoZone or PeP Boys and ask the parts guy...he can look
it up right there...probably more convenient than going down to your
dealer. Or CALL them.

2. While there, page through a Haynes Repair Manual for your car and
find out yourself.

3. Go to Autozone Online and look up the part yourself:

http://www2.autozone.com/servlet/UiB...n=viewHomePage

Unlike Pep Boys Online, you can search EVERY part (part #s and prices
of course) AutoZone carries...it'll either show BELTS listed or NO
belts listed...if no belts, it must be a CHAIN. If you need to BUY the
part(s), print out the parts page on your screen and take it to
AutoZone and show it to the guy re: exactly what you need...let him
look it up to verify.

Good luck,

John D.
