Default Re: 2003 accord EX6 coupe 6 speed

I test drove one earlier this month, a red one. I went to the dealership to
test drive a 2 door 6 speed and an EX 4cyl sedan. Well, the first
salesperson did not let me drive a 6 speed, even though I counted at least
four 6 speeds on the lot (looked for the red "V6" badge on the rear facia).
The first salesman only let me drive an automatic LX! I received the same
story you did. Same story for the S2000.

Well, I asked for another salesman who was eager to let me drive the 6
speed. I drove it for about 7 or 8 miles. I loved the shifter, but I guess
the clutch action is not for me, (engages too soon). I could only make the
1-2 shift smooth only a handful of times. I stalled it quite a few times.
I should mention that I've been driving a manual transmission Jeep Wrangler
for the last 7 years, which is not exactly a world class manual
transmission...

So, in summary, I would say that all in all, the salesman should have let
you drive the car, unless someone else had bought it first. Otherwise how
would you know you if you liked it or not? I would not buy any car without
a test drive. The dealership should have accomodated you. If you can test
drive any BMW, or Lexus, you should be able to test drive any other car!

I bought an Accord EX coupe 6 speed, without a test drive, and I love it! I
have had it now for a month, and I like it more each day. It took me a while
to get the clutch part down pat, because it is probably the touchiest clutch
I have ever owned, but it is worth the trouble. I think I am going to really
like this car.
