It's amazing how many symptoms __low coolant__ can cause. Because the computer needs temperature signals from the head and radiator, it will behave badly if it can't figure out that the engine is warmed up. The sensors have to be fully immersed or they won't tell the computer the truth, and the rad fan(s) won't start either. Mixture, ignition timing, idle speed and even transmission shift points can all be screwed up when there's air in the cooling system. The next 'symptom' is sometimes a warped or cracked head :-( 'Curly' |
