Default 2004 Civic center dashboard

Hi All,

I am trying to remove the center daskboard of my 04 civic so that I can
remove the storage compartment just below the AM/FM radio and replace
that with a VHF transceiver.

It looks so simple, I must be missing something. But, I bet there is a
catch.

The AM/FM radio, storage compartment, AC buttons and temperature
control are all contained within a sub-section area of the dash, I
would expect that I should be able to find the latches around this area
and just remove it. However, the latch on the top middle appears to
have a more permanent attachment.

So, I am turning to the group for help.

Look forward to your answer.
