It's a question from a car ignoramus here people.......

I have noticed that the fluid from my radiator has been pouring into the
overflow tank on a daily basis, and each time a drain it and refill the
radiator, it does it again. I have pour fluid back in, checked the pipes by
pushing, twisting etc, and they would appear to be getting fluid into them,
but I am at a loss on what could be causing this.

On one occasion I heard a loud hissing noise coming from the left hand side
of the engine, but could not see anthing escaping. There does not even
appear to be any leaks comign from the radiator or any of the pipes!!!

I hold my hands up and admit I know nothing about cars, but what I do know
is that taking the car into a garage is going to cost me more than the car
is worth.. but I would appreciate it if anyone could give me any tips on
anything I could do or check for to try and sort this problem out.

Fill the rad to the top, and keep the reservoir filled to the MAX line.
Check it three days in a row and top up if it drops. You have to keep
coolant in the reservoir or else the engine can't displace AIR which you
presently have in your system.

No tap water. Use Honda premix coolant. You need an owner's manual.

Could this be a head gasket leak into the cooling system?

When I had the car in before, they had to skim the gasket (thats what they
told me) so I have no idea if the problem experienced now is something to do
with that.

suspect head gasket. if you can't do this work yourself, find a good
independent honda specialist and have them test.
