Default 2000 EX-V6 Accord Coupe No Start Problem

Earlier today I had a no-start 2000 accord, that resulted in me changing
out the battery. Pop the new battery in, and it would still turn over
like hell but not start. I started pulling fuses to check for blown
ignition, starter, etc, but nothing was blown. With every pull of the
fuse, I hit the ignition only to be disappointed. Then, about two hours
ago, I decided to try one last time before starting to wind it down for
the evening, and the car started.

Any ideas what could have caused the vehicle to turn over but not start?
The gas smell seemed rather high after firing the car up, so I am
wondering if it flooded? I am also wondering if this could be a
"bigger" problem since the car is 5 years old with 85,000 miles on it.

I want to make an appointment to bring it in to the dealer, but I have
concerns that they will not be able to tell me anything if it starts for
them. I may still make that appointment because the dreaded SRS light
is on and I want them to check my automatic transmission.

You guessed it . . it was flooded. It sat for several hours before this
started, right? One injector with a slow drip will bleed all the fuel
out of your (pressurized) fuel rail overnight and it just won't start.
You have to do like the manual says for 'Flooded Engine'. On the V-6 it
will often start (since only one 'side' of the engine is hosed with
fuel. Hold the pedal to the metal and crank it for up to fifteen
seconds. It will blow a black puff and run badly for ten seconds but it
will be OK. Techron injector cleaner is the answer, or just run a few
tanks of Gasohol thru it. Read the manual about this part.

Thanks for the reply. I dropped it off to have the SRS light resolved
and have them check out the automatic transmission. Also, I had no
problems starting it today (imagine that).

Thanks again,
Chris
