Default 2001 clock backlight

I have a 2001 Honda Accord. The clock backlight no longer works.

Does anyone know if there is a bulb that can be replaced or do I have to buy
a new clock? If a new clock is the only solution, does anyone know where I
can get one at a reasonable price?

Thanks for your help.

Bob

Go to your local Honda dealer and get the new bulb.

Get a bulb at your Honda dealer. And be thankful you don't have this
problem with a 2000 Odyssey. The bulb can't be replaced from the front.

You can also get the bulbs from Radio Shack.

What's involved with replacing the light in a 2000 ody?

As I understand it, the whole top of the dash has to be removed to get at
the back of the clock. Or so says the Honda Service Advisor here in
Albuquerque. Our bulb stopped working years ago and it's just too much
trouble to replace it.

If it's got tits, tires, tubes, or transistors, it's trouble.

I just removed the clock lamp from my 2001 Honda Accord. The clock
assembly is removed from the dash by simply sliding a thin flat
screwdriver (or similar device) at the bottom of the assembly and
gently pry it up and out. Two cables are attached which don't need to
be removed but the job is easier if you do. Both cable connectors are
easy to remove without tool. Depress the release latch and separate the
connectors. The lamp resides very visibly on the circuit board (do not
remove circuit board. Using a small (approx. 3/16 in) turn the lamp 1/4
turn CCW and lift out. FYI, while the cables are detached from the
assembly the turn signals and emergency flashers are disabled.

Too bad the Odyssey engineers didn't look to their Accord counterparts
for how to do this.

On the Odyssey, you have to remove the dash surround.
