I've used ATF in power steering in a number of vehicles with no problems, however, you may want to go to a jyard and see about picking up a non leaking Power Steering box, because they generate a lot of line pressure and if one goes out, you may be in trouble. It's cheaper to fix it now, than later HTH Eric -- To Reply directly delete "removethis" from email address |

HOw about a cheap fix I found on th eRange Rover Board and have used in my
wife's '88 RR Classic. OK to use the trans fluid but next time you add fluid put 2 caps full of BRAKE FLUID. If the leak is from dried or worn seals the brake fluid swells them. repeat @1x a year...................I've been doing this for 6 years with great results. Originally someone from Whales told me about it and since I was looking at a huge replacement bill I thought I'd try it................... DO NOT DO IT. Honda power steering fluid is different from regular
power steering fluid. If you put regular fluid or brake fluid in you will damage the seals and just have to fix it sooner.l |
