Default 20 Or 30 Wt. Oil For 6 Cyl. Accord ?

Hi,

Have a new 2005 Accord 6 cyl.

Was surprised to see they want 5W 20 oil, rather than the 30 weight that I
always
thought was pretty much standard for these engines.

Has there been a change ?

Why ?

Would it be a "good" idea to go to 30 weight (for the summer), or do they
really
mean it when they say they want 20 wt. ?

Thanks,
Bob

I'd assume that the Honda engineers know what they're doing. But stick
around for other opinions.

Ages ago. Honda has specified 5W20 for quite some time now.

Honda specified 5W30 for my '00 Accord and for my '01 Odyssey.
