Just bougfht a new 2003 Honda EX Civic 2 dr stick for $15,900 equipped
with mats and mud guards. The car is much better than I had expected,
runs great on the highway, plenty of zip.

Keep in mind that this is not the same car though.
The US 2 dr EX is the Canadian Si. It does have a VTEC engine which the LX
doesn't have.
