Hello:
Just purchased a new Accord (6 cyl.) LX and would like to ask the following question regarding adding a cassette tape deck. Fiunny, new Camry's come with a CD changer and the tape deck as standard, but Accord doesn't. The dealership wants $ 350 to put one in; claims it costs him about $ 250. Wow. Obviously, I didn't do it, but would like to add one. Any of you folks ever add one on your own ? So, let me ask: a. How hard is it to pick up the cable and connector that thgey use to connect theirs ? I understand it uses up about 1/2 the CD storage space, so the connector and wiring for it should be right behind it. True ? How do i get to it ? Anything truly unique about meshing with their harness ? Would sure be nice to use the Accord's existing radio/CD controls that their tape cassette would use. b. Hard to do ? c. Where can I see a schematic of the pin-outs for it ? If anyone has, would it be possible for you to scan it in, and send it as an Attachment to me ? Would be most appreciative. Much thanks. Would sure appreciate any help with this. Happy Holidays, Bob |

I bought a tape player from Hondaparts.com (I think) in 2000 that was $70 cheaper than the dealer wanted. Put it in myself which took about 30 minutes. Check the Internet for better prices than your dealer is quoting.
