I'm hoping to get some advice on how to effectively handle this situation...I bought a brand new Honda civic at local Honda dealership and the next day, I noticed some stain marks on the dashboard (It was my first car purchase and I was stupid to not fully inspect the car at the time I purchased it) the next day and I called my sales rep about it. He was very nice at that point and asked me to bring the car in so the Details department can have a look. I did that, and they applied some cleaning solution that smudged the stains over a large area on the dashboard, I was told to clean it up with soap and water the next day, which I did, but the stains did not go away. Then I called my sales rep again and he insisted that I spilled something over the dashboard that caused the stains, even though I repeatedly told him that it was definitely not something that I did. I couldn't believe how rude he was, he told me that I could take the car back in again for them to take another look but he's not making any promises. I am planning on taking the car in again and speaking to the manager about it and I'm hoping he will be more agreeable, but if not, maybe I will file a formal complaint on the dealership with Honda America (although I don't know what good that will make). I've never been in this kind of situation before, it was my first car purchase, and I'm not used to dealing with bad customer service. so I would like to get some feedback from people who have more experience with this. Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
