I was wondering if someone could clear some things up for me.
I want a sporty honda and Im being told thats the si. I want a well made one and Im being told older=better built body and that the ideal year to have is a 2001 because it has a better engine then the years previous. What I want to know is am I being given qaulity info or am I being taken for a ride? Any help is welcomed! Thanks Kassie |

99-00 Si's have the proven B16 motors. There is a ton of aftermarket parts that you can get for these motors, too.
As for the 2001+ Si's, they are, indeed, very nice cars. The motors in 2001 (EP3) Civics is also a proven motor, although they generally cost more to modify/fix than the older B16 motors. Ultimately, it is a matter of preference. I enjoy the opportunities with the 99-00 Civics, however I happen to be a fan of the 2001+ Civics as they are. |

I agree. Either chassis is a good start to something that could be a fantastic car. Either one of them stock is a good base for a fun, reliable daily driver.
Determining what you want to do with the car should ultimately decide which one you should purchase. IMO, if you are looking for a DD, the 2001+ (EP3) Si's is probably the most bang for the buck. If you are looking to modify a car over time, the 99-00 Si's are the ticket. Preference presides on this one. |
