Alright people, I'm quite new to this forum, i keep on asking questions on the main Honda page but no one replies . Ive just bought a Honda concerto 1.6 ex 1989 and is in mint condition for a 19 year old car.

Those are realy cool cars! I love then! Myfirst GF had one in highschool it was a GOOD time inthe winter!!! One night we drove up to the airport (I worked there). We drove down the runway AS FAST AS POSSIABLE (remember we were young and dumb) and would just crank teh hand brake! sending us twisting and spinning for a couple hundred feet!!!! Great little cars!

How are you liking it? Any issues? Need a hand? Im kinda green again with the HONDA scene but Ill try if I can!

Alright mate, the ALB reservoir located near the engine, the brake fluid is running low, now my concerto manual says to use dot 3 or 4 breaking fluid, but because i have just bought the car and i am not too sure weather the previous owner used dot 3 or dot 4 brake fluid, so my question is if the previous owner used lets say dot 3 brake fluid can i put dot 4 break fluid inside it and it would still be ok.

Good question. I do not understand oils very well but one thing I do know is that you can add a point to a dot oil but you can not subtract one.... Dont ask me why. So in this case... If it says DOT3 and DOT 3 has been used forever then yes you can use DOT 4 HOWEVER if it says DOT 3 or 4 and its only used 4 you can not use 3...

So either way to be safe just use 4. Also if you dont know when the last time the fluid was comlpetely bleed and new put in I would use this oppertunity to bleed out yuor entire system and replace it with completely new DOT 4.

Yep! I agree with them. Honda Concertos are cool cars from Honda. People in our area often knows its existence at our local markets. For me it's sporty & reliable.
