Would it be safe? meaning will it not mess up the rest of my engine? where can i get one? and what brand is the best and less expensive?

I have a 90 civic that is soon going to reach 180,000 and I'd like to make it last to 250,000 if I can.

I'm thinking I'll need to do some of the 90,000 maintenance tasks over, but since it is so old and not worth much I want to do as much of it as I can myself. My level of skill is changing oil and the air filter with access to my mother-in-law, who is pretty knowledgeable and has a garage full of tools.

What do you think I could do myself? I'm thinking spark plugs and wondering if I can flush the transmission oil and coolant.

I have a 04 Civic EX with 99,000 miles. For the last 20,000 miles or so I have noticed a slightly muffled rattle coming from the engine bay area. This rattle occurs anywhere from 1900 to 2500 rpm, particularly when the engine is under load such as pulling out while setting on a slight incline. Additionally, having the car in park and revving the engine to these specified rpm's will also cause the rattle. The car has given me no engine problems associated with this rattle for the past two years, and I have always assumed either something was loose or that is was the natural harmonics of the engine or exhaust ay that certain rpm. Any ideas on what this could be, other posts from separate forums seem to all be leaning towards the notion that a heat shield, somewhere along the exhaust line, would be causing the rattle especially on the catalytic converter directly under the engine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Radiator fan problem...

I have a 1998 Honda Civic LX....the radiator fan does not turn on...I Jumped the fan so i know its not the motor and there is voltage going into the fan. I have also replaced the switch still does not come on. However the plug does not click onto the new fan although it did screw in fine, im not sure if this means i have the wrong switch. Is there any other reasons why the radiator fan doesnt turn on? Thanks

Greetings to you guys..
Can anyone tell me what the flashing light on the computer box means?
The computer box that is on the firewall on the inside/passanger side of the car.
apprenelty if it flashes certain amount of times it means certain thing wrong.

Mine flashes 7 times.. then pauses.. then 7 times again and repeats itself continusly..

I would of taken it to a HONDA agent but there isnt one for the next 350kms away (200miles)

1994 Honda Accord shuts off randomly?

At random my 1994 accord coupe lx 5 speed shuts off randomly. there is no specific condition in which it shuts off as in idling or turning or slowing down, it just shuts off. When i try to start it, it try's to turn over but doesnt completely get there. I have already replaced the main relay. It is a reconstructed title.

ive not a 96 honda civic and the engine light is on the code says cylinder 1 misfire and O2 Sensor i checked and replaced all 4 spark plugs and thcylinderer 1 wire which had a crack in it and the distributor cap because of a crack im still getting the code and not sure what to check on it now the fuel injector is working because a hear ticking sound coming from it any advice what to try next thanks
