Default '91 Integra water under rear sdeat

OK where's it getting in? My 10 yr old says her butt is getting wet on
one side of the rear seat. I now believe her. We think we hear it
sloshing around. Car sits outside and it has been raining. I guess I'll
have to remove the seat and look...Don't see any obvious trails inside
the car.

Not necessarily what you have, but the seals around the taillights are
notorious on many models. If the trunk is wet, run a hose around the
taillights on the outside and see if water comes into the trunk. Replacing
the seals is the solution in that case.

I have a 90 Integra LS, hatchback with same prob. I removed the spare
tire & there is water sloshing around in the tire cavity where it
normally goes.

When you stop, some water must move forward like a tidal wave soaking
the backseat carpet & seat.

I have not had time to track down where it is coming from but there
is no rust where the spare is normally put so it must be coming in
from around where the hatchback connects to the body. Or can it seep
in from around the taillights?

I will post more IF I find something intelligent.

Just a thought, but have you checked the seal around the moonroof and/or top
of the hatch (3rd) door? Water could be working its way through and making
the seat wet. Just thoughts.

I just got back from vacation (walked on a sunny beach Monday, cleaned
snow off my car today) and remembered getting the car washed recently
and so wherever it was getting in, a lot more got in then. Been driving
it, but moving snow off the windshield this morn was more important
than checking the spare tire well. Hell that hatch is full of sailing
gear including a jib sail. My boat is still at the lake and was
supposed to be moved Oct.17. I moved it, but it's still at the lake.
Lotsa sh*t needs doing. Maybe the water will freeze and hold 'til
spring......

There is a small drainage hole in the well near the storage spot for the
jack. Make sure this is clear so that at least the water won't accumulate.
If that seems clear then also look under the car at the same spot. I think
there are two holes there.

I had read that the drain hoses for the sun roof might be the problem, but I
checked mine and they seem ok. I still have to check the tail lights. As
water drains down the seam of the hatchback it passes over the tail light
seals so that could easily be a source of water.
