Put on the new belt and sho nuff the power steering now works. But, I found the engine mount bolts had been stripped. One had a helicoil that holds tight the other needs one. I also need several 10mm screws that were missing from the under car windage tray. |

And how I fixed the stipped motor mount bolt hole, that some stupid jerk on steroids or used an impact wrench, had ****ed up. I got a "just a little bigger"grade 8 bolt, and cut slots in it with an air grinder cut off wheel, made a self tapping bolt. Screwed that SOB right in there with a half inch breakover until it was good and tight. Don't tell anyone of this trick. And if you do, be sure to tell them to use at least a grade 8 bolt. Fixed the car so good the owner wants it back instead of selling it to me cheap like he was going to do when I went and got it and it looked like a major expense. |
