A spring has popped out of the clutch friction disc. You need a new clutch.

the EXACT same thing happened to my 88 prelude less than a month ago,
and tregger is right, your clutch is none existant... it’s gone, don’t
even bother trying to think that we may be wrong or you don’t need a
new clutch... I hate to say it man, but you’re either sinking a lot of
money into an older ride, or it’s time for you to buy a new one! so
either or ... but probably mostly

Friends of the family had an Acura (don't know model/year, but it was their
"beater" car) that had the same sort of failure but it turned out the clutch
didn't have springs - it had a rubber damper. The rubber had crumbled and
jammed the clutch. Same concept and same outlook/fix, though. New clutch.
(Assuming the clutch pedal feels normal and doesn't just sink to the floor
with a gentle push, which would point to the clutch master/slave cylinders.
Cheaper and easier in that case.)
