Have a new 2005 RL – at 1,300 miles front brakes start squeaking
extremely loud when cold and damp; dealer replaced pads – same thing 350 miles later; next try, they turned the rotors – same thing; now the Acura rep is in town and related that they are having a problem with the new rl’s brakes. anyone out there having similar issues? what relief might I expect from Acura. I spent a lot of money for a car that sounds like a 1970’s milk truck in the neighborhood -- Posted using the http://www.autoforumz.com interface, at author's request Articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards Topic URL: http://www.autoforumz.com/Acura-2005...ict105548.html Visit Topic URL to contact author (reg. req'd). Thanks for the tips. I could not decide between 05 RL or 05 Lex GS. Now, I
think I know which one is better. After two cold mornings - no squeaks. Hopefully all fixed. I do believe that they have a manufacturing issue wherein the ceramic pads are off and will need to address on a more holistic basis. Other than this issue, the car is absolutely awsome, 300 hourse power gives me all the kick i want, the 5.1 Boise surround system is incredible, and the seats are superb. |

I would try and have the dealer "REPLACE" the rotors.
From my experience with foreign cars you are doing good'to get one rotor turn job. In your case you already had this one so when the time comes for brakes, you probably have to pay for NEW rotors since they will probably be too this for a second turning. Any one else concur ?
