My 93 Legend (164000 miles) would not start and the Acura Dealership said it
was the fuel pump relay. The Relay Part and Labor to replace it would cost $213 plus tax. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how much did it cost to repair? Thanks, Gil |

Sounds like you were charged for the EFI Main Relay and an hour's labor. It's fair. Although, the labor portion could have been $20 or $30 cheaper if you'd got an independent garage to do it. -- TeGGeR® The Unofficial Honda/Acura FAQ www.tegger.com/hondafaq/ |

I find it hard to believe that an Acura mechanic, who has doubtless done it MANY times and has just the right tools, would take an hour to swap out a relay. Charge an hour yes, take an hour no. Yes, it is tucked away under the dash, but it is still a one bolt, one connector operation. Is the Dealer price for a Main Relay $150 nowadays? Not quite, but the relay in that 2nd gen legend is MUCH more than the relay
in the 90-93 accord. > Is the Dealer price for a Main Relay $150 nowadays? > > For further info: > > http://techauto.tripod.com/index.htm > > |

I see a lot more 91-95 legends on the road (compared to the 86-90) and I've
seen way fewer main relays fail in them. But they are also newer..... so I might just need to give them more time. Also, the main relay is bigger.... maybe it was built to handle more power and heat.
