Hey,
This is a NEW transmission installed at 84K mi under the extended warrenty. Since I've only had it since 83K and its just gotten cold I don't know if this VERY stiff shifing into drive is normal. When the car warms up it gets normal. I got in this morning at about 15F and it was very hard to shift. My '97 TL doesn't do it. otherwise I'm lovin it! - wazzup????? JK |

It has only gotten to 15f here in the Dallas area a few of times since it was new and the car was actually out of the garage and in it, though. When you say very hard to shift, do you mean the shift lever is physically hard to move, or the transmission is hesitant/slow/abrupt when changing gears? If the lever is hard to move, I would say something wasn't put back correctly when they replaced the trans. Either way, it probably calls for a trip back to the dealer to make sure they didn't screw up. |

Thanks for the response. Its hard to physically move the shift lever.
There is no catching or scraping feel it just feels as though the fluid has turned to molasses. It shifts smoothly going through the gears by itself and its easy to move the shifter once it warms up. Just a problem when its cold. On Wed, 29 Dec 2004 16:59:23 GMT, "E.
