I'm trying to install a keyless entry system in my 94 Integra. The only places I can think of to get to the wires are where the wires come in behind the dash from the doors. The problem with this is that area is nearly impossible to get to without some major surgery. I can barely see where the wires come into the dash, let alone reach them and identify them. The door lock module itself is in the drivers door. Is there any other place in the car that these wires would be more accessible?
Thanks for any help here! BBB |

You want to peel up the carpet and set your DMM on DC setting (or Ohm, forgot which) and then pin/needle probe each wire coming or leading to the passenger door to ground. The door will lock/unlock once you hit the right wire. A test light would probably do the same trick without risk to your DMM. |

That would require removing panels and fishing wires inside, unless he puts the keyless unit here. The passenger wires are easily exposed via one-two strokes ripping up the carpet, unless this is not an option. |

It is no big deal to pop off the door panel and the wires you need are all right there at the connector to the door lock mechanism. There is plenty of room and a piece of duct tape will hold the unit in place for the life of the car. |

Well, after a LOT of ripping and tearing and cussing, and with the help of a handy little doohickey my dad brought home from work, I finally managed to find (and eventually reach) the wires I needed to hook up the keyless entry portion of the alarm system. I was hoping that was the hard part, but it doesn't look like it. But thanks for the help in this matter!
