Default Tires for 98 Integra GSR

I currently own a pair of Bridgestone Pole Position SO-3s. 205/50/15s. I
want to stay with the OEM wheels (15 inch). I will have to get new tires
after
the winter. Since treadware is terrible, I won't be getting the same tires.

What size can I go up to before the tires rub against the wheelwell?

Also, can I get a 215/50/15 or 225/50/15? I've heard that if I increase in
mm size,I have to drop 1 profile size. Is this true? What are the
ramifications of not doing so?
