I get a low howl sound when I release the clutch after the car warms up and
in first gear. It became more noticeable after I put on snows with steel
wheels. The clutch does not slip when gun-it in high gears. It did grab
harder when new. The car has 33,000 miles on it. I never misuse the clutch
and I don't "get on it" that much.

Could it be worn to the rivets already?

Does it only do it in first gear?

On release only....? Possibly the throw-out bearing. If it howls through
1st only, sounds like a scored gear.
