Default '94 Integra 1.8L timing belt question

Do these engines always eat valves when belt snaps? Any exceptions??

Not always.....but it's rare with an interference engine. My 1.7L vtec belt
snapped at low RPM/speed after the water pump locked up. I had no bent
valves. If you can do a cylinder leak down test then you can find out.

Default 94 Integra 1.8L timing belt broke and no bent valves

Thanks all for your input, put on new tming belt, bingo, fired right off, no
problems at all. From all I read, this was not supposed to happen. The customer
was in heavy traffic, doing about 60 when it croaked: no noises, just coasted
to a stop. Got it towed, diagnosed the belt, he was there and was willing to
take the chance and won. Made me feel good, I had the job either way but he
tipped real nice so we all won this round .........
I hope this helps another poor soul ......easy job, only bitch is the crank
bolt, Godzilla torqued from factory ........
Thanks all ........
