By the way, I will repost all the discussion here every month to remind
people of those bastards until my regret dies down. I had a simliar experience with a GM dealership 3 years ago. Unfortunately
you *can* be lied to and pressured into signing a contract and have absolutely no recourse except to sue. If you don't sue, you are just wasting your time and will accomplish nothing. -- Rob "Ghislain" <ghislaing@potsi.com-ISP_Name_Reversed> wrote in message news:JEnVc.52106$vO1.269865@nnrp1.uunet.ca... >I had a similar experience a long time ago with a Ford dealer. I'm not sure about the laws in Canada when buying a new car, but at least in
the Chicago area, you have three days to change your mind and bring the car back, no questions asked. You will receive all your deposits back & if you traded in a car, they have to return it to you as well. >at least in the Chicago area, you have three days to change your mind and

You have a three-day right of recission on any commercial transaction for which a sales contract must be exectued. ------------------------------------------------- I believe you are mistaken on this. I live in CA. When I bought my Acura they told me specifically the deal would be final when I signed -specifically no 3 days to change my mind. There is currently a bill under debate in CA to institute such a 3 day return period. Gov. Arnold S. opposes it as does the DMV claiming it would be too burdensome to delay and/or reverse the processing of tags, titles, etc. That this bill even exists says that there is no Federal law on the matter. This fellow lives in Canada so it is all moot anyway. nguyenn - If you feel you have been shortchanged on the deal you should 'climb the ladder' with your protests. First decide exactly what it would take to make you satisfied. Then try to speak to the head of the dealership and explain why you are dissatisfied. If that fails contact the regional office for Acura. If that fails contact your local newspaper or TV station and see if their investigative reporters are interested. Most of the time you will get something although maybe not all you would like just to make you go away. |

>I believe you are mistaken on this. I live in CA. When I bought my Acura they
told me specifically the deal would be final when I signed -specifically no 3 days to change my mind.< Anyone can tell you anything, but that doesn't make it right. The papers I signed when I bought my TL specifically mentioned the federal law which gave me the right to revoke the deal within 3 business days. Whatever your dealer told you, they were lying. |

You actually _read_ a contract before you signed it?! ....How novel. |
