Default New brake discs rusting - expected?

I got rear brake discs replaced last week in our 2000 Acura 3.2 TL,
because the old ones were rusted very deep (at least that's what the
mechanic said).

I see a light rust on them already, as well as on my front ones which
were just machined.

Is this expected? There is none on the area were the pads rub. I've
looked around at other cars, and don't see such evident rust. Could
the discs be bad quality? Hae said they were original and cost me $ 60
apiece.

Also, I can sense a vibrattion when I brake to a stop, which hasn't
gone away even after 10 days after a new set of pads and rear discs.
Bad alignment or is this usual behavior for new pads?

Thanks

Absolutely normal. After a couple of weeks, the only part of brake disks
that is not rusty is the area squeezed by the pads.

Was this done by a dealer? My understanding (I also have a 2000 TL) is that
Acura does not recommend machining the front rotors. Replacement only
because of problems with warping rotors. This might be the trouble.

I assume you also replaced the front pads? Did you get OEM?

In any event, the new pads might not be broken in. Try a couple of hard
stops from 50 or 60 MPH to bed them in and see if the vibration goes away.

normal for regular iron rotors. i've seen lots of rotors get rusty in 8
hours of being outside while it was lightly raining...
