Re your question, I would do the timing belt first. If it breaks, you have an un-usable car. Then the radiator and CV joint as a pair. The window could be left for the new owner. If $$ are really tight, do not do the timing belt; leave that for the next owner, but advise them as to the need to do it. Put it in writing. If you are in the greater midwest, and the A/C works, I would be interested in your car. Doug |

A prospective buyer will walk away if the window won't work (unless its raining). Anybody who opens the hood and sees a radiator leaking (or looks on the ground and sees the puddle) will also walk away. CV joint will not jinx a sale unless its so bad it chatters and clicks on every turn. You can probably skip it. Timing belt is invisible. Nobody knows there is anything going on there until it breaks. I think most buyers of old cars assume that belt needs to be changed when they buy it. Probably safe to skip this as well. Essentially, if the car looks well maintained and all the obvious stuff works, You will be able to sell it. Sight unseen, there is no way to give you a realistic price estimate, though from what you have said it would be in the "poor" category. Take a look at edmunds.com and plug in the essential information. It will give you a number. |
