Default Maintenance Interval

Acura's website suggests maintenance intervals of 6000km or 3 months,
whichever comes first. Yet, my owner's manual says 6000km or *6*
months.

Which is it? And why the discrepency?

I need to make sure that the conditions of my extended warranty are
respected.

Thanks!

I'd go with the manual.However. Interestingly, I just check the
web site and my interval is listed as 8000km or *4* months. In
the book, it says: 8000km or *6* months. I will go with the
manual on this one as no one at Acura (nor a small claim court
judge) would argue that the maintenance that followed the
official printed manual schedule was not appropriate. I will
email Acura just to be safe...

Personally, I would err on the side of caution. I have always gone on 3
months / 5000km as my high school auto teacher taught us.

You pay $30K plus for a car and quibble over $30-$45 for an oil change. Take
your car in every three months or 2 K miles and be done with it. I never
use a dealer. I use a local guy who only works on Honda, Toyota cars. One
man shop...Mom & Pop business. I get to talk directly with the mechanic.
