Default Help w/A/C on '93 Vigor?

Hello,

I had the engine changed out last fall (runs GREAT!!!), but - the a/c
isn't working now.... I don't know if they guys doing the change-out
cracked a seal open or not. Does anyone have some good advice here?

It is r12 (as I recall).

1 - should I check (somehow?) to see if it still has any vacume/seal
still intack first?

2 - If the system has been opened, then I need a new dryer, correct?

3 - Do I go with r12 replacement (I think I can get my hands on
enough for a recharge & have a friend who can do the job...) OR -
what I be better off going with the 134a changeover??

*** If I changeover to the 134a - what is involved - new
fittings/nipples, dryer, (seals??), different oil?

Can someone at least point me in a good direction to info online
perhaps walking me through this?

Thanks for now -

Danny

PS - The engine that I had put in it last fall is one of
those "direct from Japan engines with 40k miles or less" things
and... I BELIEVE THEM!!!!! It is like a slow rocket - once
again! Paid like $750 including delivery charges 1/2 way across
the country. Ask me if I'm pleased?? ;-) I also kept the old engine
as I think it can be rebuilt and I plan to do it and just set it in
my garage - waiting for the day when I need it! Happiness is having
another engine waiting & ready-to-go!

Default Re: Help w/A/C on '93 Vigor?

The Vigor has an A/C diagnostic mode. I can't recall the procedure, but it
has to do with the A/C control and
the heat to be set to MAX. You have to press in between the A/C and RECYCLE
buttons a few times.

regards,

Adrian
