First post-I may take the Acura plunge... Due to the untimely demise
(totaled in accident) of my wife's 91 Accord EX Wagon with 215k miles, I am considering buying a 2000 Acura RL with 46k miles for $17,000. The car fax shows it was probably a lease car turned in and later auctioned. The one owner drove it in NY state, so I am concerned about rust problems; should I let this kill the deal?. I read that these cars receive galvanizing, but I'd appreciate the opinion of those with expereince with Acuras. I am also alike to work on my own cars, so ease on maintenance is a plus for me. The nearest dealers are about 50 miles away so I'm not too keen on having to take the car there for servicing unless it is something fairly complicated. It seems that I'll need to get my parts from them or order online. Do any Honda parts apply to these cars? I am considering having an Acura dealer inspect and certify the car to get the extra warranty-its just ran out at end of March 04. Is the Acuracare worth the money?
