I paid about $27000 for mine in December (+ tax & title), without the
cassette. I did add all season floor mats, trunk tray, cargo net, and wheel locks. The sales person who did the delivery (who was not the one I negotiated with) said it was the best deal he'd seen. there's a 3% holdback on Acura's. your TSX msrp is around 28-29k, which
equates to approx $870 in holdback that the dealer gets. they probably sold you at around $1200 over their invoice, making them about $2k off the sell. putting holdback aside, $500-$1200 over dealer invoice is a fair range for sale price. you could have negotiated the holdback out of the sale price, dealer most likely would deny they get holdback, but don't be fooled, they do. sorry guys.. i by mistake wrote 26500.. actually I am paying 27500.
and after reading this I think I am paying a bit more than the usual. The dealer started with 28000 and I thought 27500 with cassette player should be fine. But now I think I shud atleast ask for some more accesories ![]() thanks "Kryptoknight" <kryptoknight@att.net> wrote in message news:<Nfkhc.4808$_o3.156161@bgtnsc05-news.ops.worldnet.att.net>... > there's a 3% holdback on Acura's. your TSX msrp is around 28-29k, which > equates to approx $870 in holdback that the dealer gets. they probably sold > you at around $1200 over their invoice, making them about $2k off the sell. > putting holdback aside, $500-$1200 over dealer invoice is a fair range for > sale price. > > you could have negotiated the holdback out of the sale price, dealer most > likely would deny they get holdback, but don't be fooled, they do. > > > "puneet" <punnu35@yahoo.com> wrote in message > news:2d5a1905.0404201207.4e950aab@posting.google.c om... > > I am getting 04 TSX (black -black) Auto with Nav + cassette player > > (worth abt 300 bucks) for $26500 + taxes(NY state). of course the total price depends on what you got with the car. TL msrp'd
right at 33k, TSX was just about 3-3.5k less than TL at my dealer. ping a bunch of dealers for quotes, see what they come back with. you have to shop to get "your" price. these cars sell at market value so it's hard to haggle alot. i got my TL with ground package, mud guards, and low lip spoiler for 35.2k out the door. i shopped everywhere from NYC to CT to NJ to PA. i like to buy from the honest sales guy. ask about the holdback and see what they say. most will try and cover that up some way some how. the very honest ones will disclose it right up front then tell you holdback is non-negotiable (that's being honest). some may knock off $100 or so from the holdback, but most won't even acknowledge holdback. i'm not 100% on what else the dealer gets, i'm a toyota guy and i know how toyota sells so i know the other items to ask about. does honda have VIR's (vehicle inquiry reports)?? for toyota they show on-the-ground and allocated cars by VIN #, and show exactly what the dealer invoice is. it usuanlly takes me around 6 months to sign for a new car... hope this helps. k "puneet" <punnu35@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:2d5a1905.0404211040.453bba8d@posting.google.c om... > sorry guys.. i by mistake wrote 26500.. actually I am paying 27500. > and after reading this I think I am paying a bit more than the usual. > The dealer started with 28000 and I thought 27500 with cassette player > should be fine.
