Default Acura TL...Oil Change recommendation

I'm looking for comments from anyone who may have compared experience using
5w-20 synthetic oil vs. conventional or synthetic blend oil in their '04
TL.

Specifically, have you experienced better fuel economy?

Thanks,
RJ

As I posted previously on this ng, I have only compared the
viscuosity of synthetic and conventional oil in the cold.
However, I read in the Consumer Report a while back that for all
intent and purposes, there are no advantages of one over the
other in terms of wear or fuel economy as long as 1) you do not
live in the cold areas and 2) you change the oil frequently.

I also recall reading about semi-synthetic oil that did not
present any great advantage over the conventioanl and full
synthetic oils.

But to anwer your specific question: no, I have not made any
comparaison. I would extrapolate that if you change you
conventional oil regularly you will not see any. This being said,
after plucking 30,000$ on my new Acura, and seing that 5w20 is
recommended by Acura, I will use this type of oil. I live in
Canada and conventional oils become mollasse in the dead of
winter nights. Also, the last thing I want is to have Acura void
my warranty for something like that.
