Default 05 RL!

Check out http://www.vtec.net and http://acuranews.com for great pics of
and info on the new RL prototype, which was unveiled at the New York
Int'l Auto Show on 4/7. Acura has done a great job of improving it's
flagship sedan. It may now actually be worthy of the $42k+ pricetag.
The previous model, although very nice, was way overpriced for what you
got.

Agreed, but we still dont' know what the pricetag on the 2005 will be. That
will be telling.

I disagree, considering the nav system is basically the only option,
compared to the competition at 42K it's still a bargain. I have a 98 RL and
I love it, 112K miles and no major problems, just routine maintenance.

Hey, looks nice. 20" wheels?!?!

But Honda has got to do the V8, for the RL, for the NSX, for the MDX,
and maybe even for the TL.

no V8. most of em are bloated. only the mdx should get the V8.
tweaked out 3.5 is right on. i'm sure you could get a little more
torque/hp out of this RL. honda's really good at sqeezing juice.

Come to think of it, they're probably waiting until they can justify a
rear-wheel drive, for putting the power down. Oh, wait, the RL is
4WD. Never mind. But the V8 is for displacement, which you can't
beat, except maybe via turbo (another option), except that it will eat
gas and lower your fleet mileage.

I was told by a salesman at a local Acura dealer the price will be in the
upper 40's, like $49,999! Gulp! 8-)
