Default 2004 Acuta T-L and Saab 9-5

How does the 2004 Saab 9-5 compare with Acura T- L ? Has any one done any
comparision ?
Is there a web site which does comparision reviews ?

Thanks in advance.

Kumar.

Kumar,

I just sold my 99 9-5 and purchased an 04 TL. There is really no comparison
between the two. If you want to make a fair comparison, you would have to
compare the 9-5 Aero, which has a 250hp turbocharged 4cyl. I believe that
base 9-5 comes with 185hp. The TL has 270hp.

I really liked my Saab, but it seems a little dated compared to the new TL.
The Saab is a 5-6 year old design and is showing its age.

Thanks, However the price of Saab 9-5 is about $ 2000 higher and the aero is
another $ 4000 higher,
even with 4 cyl. If you say Acura T-L is better, why is the price less than
Saab ? Why do you Saab is
outdated and what do you like in the Saab or in other works missed on the
Acura - TL.

Aside from Saab being Swedish (take a look at equally overpriced Swedish
competitor Volvo) they had some of the worst build quality I have ever
heard. My friend specializes in buying cars cheap and selling high - he
works for a dealership with high marks. He has much experience with Saabs
and he let me know the skinny of it all. They lose their quality fast.

Saab is now owned by GM; Ford owns Volvo.

Hmmmmm. "If you say Acura T-L is better, why is the price less than ..."
I suppose there are some who equate higher price with higher quality,
on a one-for-one basis. I equate that concept with gullibility.

Some would say that, by virtue of being at least the functional equivalent
of
the much-higher-priced Saab, and *costing less*, the Acura is better.
Wow, what a concept! More for your money. Now, if one likes to pay
extra for the same (or less), or in some way finds a sense of superiority
in paying more ... well, pard, have at it.

As far as out-datedness goes, one might surmise that a brand-new model
just might be a fresher technological exercise than a vehicle design that's
been around for a handful of years. Another complex and strangely
intriguing concept, possibly a bit radical ... Whoa-baby.

Next, perhaps we will hear the earth-shattering news that the Universe
is not heliocentric.

I was all set on buying a 9-5 but happened to stop by the Acura dealer in a
'what the hell, last-minute, I'll never buy a Japanese car anyway' moment.
That was three months ago. I now drive a 2004 Acura TL, and could not be
happier. It is a far better car than the Saab: more powerful, more
reliable, and better designed. I have not regretted my decision for a
moment. And yes, it is considerably less expensive. As far as I am
concerned, the TL is one of the best designed/'underpriced for its value'
cars out there. It's going to take a lot to get me out of an Acura, that's
for sure. Keep 'em coming.

I sure hope they fixed the transmission failure problems they had with the
previous gen of the TL.
I'll get one once they get some history behind them.
Would replacing your trans a few times "get you out of an Acura"?
