I just talked with Acura and they are indeed replacing the tires on an ad-hoc basis. I need to take the car in and the dealer will inspect the tires (?!) and determine if they are covered by the recall. Then he will order a new set of tires that are made from a different compound (probably the same manufacturer - Bridgestone) and on your second trip, the tires will be replaced.

There is no official recall and even though I have called to voice my concern over the tires twice to Acura, they would not have contacted me. So if you're having problems, you need to call or visit your Acura dealer.

I was also told that an Acura representative will contact me within a few days to verify something, but she wasn't clear what that was.

I will keep you posted and let you know what type of tires the new ones are.
